New Projects, Patchwork Plaid Purse

I made myself a new fall purse. I found this adorable material at Jo-Ann fabrics in the cotton calico section. It is quit squares all sewn together.
I made the purse in a sack style with a magnetic button closure that I found in the accessory isle. I lined it in a rusty red fabric to match the plaid.










The handle is extra long so I can drape it across from one shoulder, to the opposite hip and the top is tied in a floppy Hobo Knot. I know hand bags are in right now, but I hate carrying them around. It only gives you one hand to shop.

    I love this purse, it is beautiful, have you used it yet?
    How long did it take to make?
    I may have to borrow the pattern and your sewing machine.

    I do use it, it's my main purse right now. It took longer than I thought because I kept getting confused with the lining. Let me know and I will bring down the stuff.

    I wonder if you could do it in a corduroy with the quilt pattern and have it reversible? By the way I don't think I'm posting correctly,what profile am I supposed to select to show my name?
    I don't have a google account.

    I thought about corduroy, I think it would be cute, you should try it. As far as posting, I'm not sure which profile to choose, I think it treats me different because I have a google account so I'm not sure what message you're getting. I choose Name/URL then type my name in.

    No problem, I can lend you the pattern after Mom Sartell gets done. You guys should get your fabric soon though, there wasn't much left on the bolt when I bought this.

    Hmmm, I think I got a yard and I had room to spare, let me look at the pattern and get beck to you. PS when I answer these comments do you get an e-mail telling you I have, or do you have to keep checking the blog?
