Mohair, Mohair, Everywhere!

Hooray! We got the roving back from Zellinger"s Woolen Mill. It is beautiful! And so much! Almost 13 pounds. I'm in the process of writing a post that will take you on a tour of the Zellinger's Mill. It is a family owned Michigan mill, and they were gracious enough to let us tour the mill and photograph all the machinery. It was really cool!

When you send it off it's all dense and oily with lanolin, and when it comes back it's like a soft cloud of fluff. The color is so wonderful, it's pearly white with a silver sheen, the silver from the rabbits. The roving is a blend, 95% Mohair to 5% Angora. I've already started spinning and it is incredibly manageable and touchable! It makes a great natural colored yarn, but will also take dye easily. I'm selling it in 1 oz balls, to purchase some click HERE or e-mail me.

And here for Knit and Purl.
